The Residency Program Director provides high quality, cost-effective, compassionate medical care and preventive medicine services to program clients. Participates in hospital committee functions and administrative duties as assigned. Provides education and training to residents, medical students, and other trainees. Participates in research and outreach activities. The program director has administrative responsibility for the general preventive medicine residency program and provides professional leadership for its activities including compliance with all applicable program requirements. The program director will be responsible for preparing preventive medicine residents with skills necessary for careers in the management and evaluation of population-based health programs. This is accomplished by ensuring residents successfully complete a course of graduate academic study as well as gain instruction in the specialty training of preventive medicine to achieve the ACGME milestones.

Assists in the expansion of education and training programs related to the discipline of General Preventive Medicine.
